Laguna Beach Food & Culture Tour FAQ
About the tour
Your Food Tasting & Tour will begin in a specified location. When you purchase tickets you will receive an email containing instructions prior to your tour.
This tour is not fancy - it is casual & fun! You can plan to arrive wearing shoes you are comfortable walking in as this tour is by foot. Weather in South Orange County is fairly predictable, but be sure to check the weather prior to the tour. Arrive with an appetite as you will be presented with food very early on. The total distance is estimated at about a mile, however, this does not include walking in and out of restaurants and the return walk. During the tour we will introduce you to the unique culture and food of Southern California's Laguna Beach. We will discuss landmarks, historic sites, tidbits and restaurant specialties. You will taste flavors from places that we adore and love as you become part of Laguna Beach. The tour will end within walking distance of the starting point. While you will experience many tastings, keep in mind that there will also be restaurants that we talk about and may not venture into. This is because we choose locations that a person may not venture into on their own, and there is simply not enough time to visit them all.

Parking can be challenging in Laguna Beach, mainly because most meters have a 3-hour limit. It is because of this that FOL does not recommend parking at a meter. We recommend parking in an all day lot. There are a couple in the vicinity, the closest one being on Laguna Canyon Rd (133) & Forest. This lot charges $10 during the summer and is 5 blocks from the start of the tour. There is another all-day lot for $10 a day at about 250 Broadway, next to Romeo Cucina. Lot prices are subject to change and often change with seasons. Use caution parking at other all day lots, as many of them have 3 hour limits.
There are restrooms located throughout various locations amongst the tour. We recommend utilizing the restroom prior to the tour to help eliminate interuptions. The first restroom will be pointed out at approximately 45 minutes into the tour, however there are limited stalls at this particular facility.
This is a casual tour! Please wear comfortable shoes as we will be walking the distance of about a mile, not including venturing in and out of restaurants and the return walk. Comfortable clothing, sunscreen and on cool days a light sweater or jacket is highly recommended. For those who are sensitive to the sun, please bring a hat and/or small umbrella for shade.
The length of the tour varies and is approximately 3-4 hours. The tour time varies greatly because some groups like to stay at chat longer than others! The consumption of food is spread out throughout the duration of the tour and the average person will leave completely satisfied.
There will be two stops where beer & wine tastings are optional at $2-3 per tasting.
Yes, we offer gift certificates. Please fill out the gift certificate form.
Simply book a tour and enter your gift code in the member code field.
We sell tickets for 7-12 years old at $20, Ages 13 & up $55 & children under 7 are complimentary with minimal tastings.
Due to the advanced preparation required for each tour, tickets must be made in advance. Tickets can be purchased on our booking page via the calendar. Tours often sell out quickly!

Many children have loved the tour as there are many things to try and see. We do, however, offer 2 locations where alcohol is a purchase option ($2-3 a tasting) and the attendance of your child(ren) is solely at your discretion.
The maximum tourists per tour is generally kept at 12
Food Tastings will vary. A tasting is generally a smaller portion to experience the taste of the restaurant. We make amendments to our tour at times, but it typically consists of about 6 tastings.
We visit various restaurants that are subject to change. We are eco friendly so we do not print handouts for the tour but we will be happy to email you a list when the tour is finished if you provide your email address.
We supply everyone with a bottle of water at the start of the tour. For legal reasons, alcohol is not provided on behalf of FOL, however we will stop at 1-2 locations where you have an option to purchase a tasting for $2 each, solely at your discretion.
Please let us know if anyone in your group has a dietary restriction (vegetarian, diabetic, gluten, etc.) when you purchase your tickets. As long as we know well in advance, we will always do our best to accommodate any special needs. While we are able to accommodate vegetarians, we are unable to accommodate Vegans as cheeses and eggs may be an ingredient in some of the items. If you purchase your ticket through a 3rd party website, please email us.
While we love to accommodate all of our tourists, wheelchairs and/or strollers are not recommended on our tours due to the many narrow sidewalks that we walk on, certain staircases that we use when entering establishments, and the very small shops that we visit. However, if you still wish to participate and/or bring strollers, we suggest a small stroller for children, which is easier to fold and store. Please keep in mind that at some stops you will have to take your child out of the stroller and carry them, or have them walk.
The tours will be conducted in English, however, Spanish for translation purposes will be available at every tour. Please let us know if you require Spanish translation during the booking.
You may reschedule up to one week prior to the tour. This allows us time to fill your spot. Please keep in mind that if you choose to do this, we can only put you on a tour that is not yet sold out, which may be weeks away, or on a weekday. When you book, we guarantee your space, therefore we do not issue refunds.
Tipping is customary in the industry but of course n required. First and foremost we want you to have a great time. Tipping is a way to show that the tour guide did a great job. Tips are always very much appreciated!
We understand your furry pet would love the tastings too, however please do not bring your pet on the tour as it may take away from the experience for yourself and others.
Definitely! While tourists love our tour, many of our attendees live in California. To date, approximately 50% of our tourists are from the Orange County area.
Absolutely! We encourage private tours and welcome them. Generally 8 is the minimum requirement for a private tour, however we will try to accommodate every situation. If you are interested in a private tour, please email us or fill out the contact form.
The streets are somewhat smaller & can be very busy. We will be crossing one of the busiest streets on the West Coast, Pacific Coast Highway. If you will be bringing a child, you will be solely responsible for their supervision. Flavors of Laguna will not be held liable for any accidents or injuries while on the tour. Please watch your step and keep your little ones close at all times.
